The Portfolio Plan
The Portfolio Plan is a structured wedding photography service designed to appeal to couples who desire top quality professional results, but for whom budget considerations are just as important. It comprises a very comprehensive service as standard, to which you can add optional components to your "portfolio" either before or after your wedding.

What does the Portfolio Plan include?
"All day" coverage of up to nine hours and no limits on the number of shots. This might include the bride and helpers preparing at home, groom and groomsmen getting ready, arrival at the wedding venue, the ceremony (as permitted – please check with your venue), formal group and individual shots, bride and groom at local beauty spot, the reception, speeches, cake cutting and first dance.
A style to suit you. Most couples prefer a low-profile storytelling style, commonly called documentary, photojournalist, or reportage. You will see plenty of examples of this in our online galleries. If your tastes are more traditional then we will provide that style. We always recommend you set aside a few minutes for some classic posed shots as a record of this important event in your family history. We discuss your style requirements and your plans in detail with you a few days before your wedding.
Online Gallery typically with 300-600 edited images of the 1200-2000 shot on a full day. You have a password protection option. Proofing - where you choose which prints you require - is done either online or via a disc. This is felt to be superior to supplying small contact prints in a proof magazine.
You can have three versions:
1) Online. These are high resolution retouched images from which you can choose the prints you require, and from which your guests can order. Direct online ordering relieves you of the task of collecting orders from your guests. Your gallery is live for six months after the wedding. It can be password protected on request.
2) On disc. Currently free on request to assist those clients who may prefer not to use the internet to view their images or who do not have ready access to a high speed connection. You can duplicate the disc for guests and copy it onto your computer’s hard drive for fast access. The image resolution is optimised for screen viewing and is not suitable printing.
3) On disc, optimised to view on your Video Ipod. This is currently free on request.
125 prints, any size up to and including 10"x8" chosen from your gallery. You can have any mix of sizes. We can supply non-standard sizes on request at no extra charge. You can choose colour or black and white on a per image basis, and you can specify a crop to alter the composition if required. Every print is individually edited for colour balance, contrast, and skin tones, and minor blemishes are removed. This number of prints is more than enough for most albums and you should find you have sufficient to share with family and friends.
A dynamic slideshow based on around 200 images from your day and set to music.
You receive three versions:
1) On DVD, optimised to view on your television through your standard settop player (overseas clients can specify PAL or NTSC format)
2) On disc, optimised to view on your computer or on high definition televisions (ancillary equipment required for HDTV)
3) On disc, optimised to view on your Video Ipod. This is currently free on request
Canvas print of your choice, any size up to 20"x16", ready to frame. This is new and is currently free.
Professional equipment weatherproofed and designed to perform in very low light without distracting flashguns, to ensure that coverage can continue regardless of the conditions or time of year.
What are the Portfolio Plan optional components?
Self-Mount Album . This is ideally suited for you to mount your own Ashton Lamont prints, plus guests photos, and mementos of the day such as invitations, orders of service, menus, and even pressed flowers. It is a high grade album only available to professional photographers. It has a robust leatherette cover and normally contains 25 pages (50 sides) each separated by a thick transparent interleaf. It is 3" thick at the spine and each side measures 14"x12". It is "postbound" which means that you can add and remove pages to taste. See the main Self-Mount Page for photographs of the actual book. The cost is £125.
Professional Album instead of 125 prints. You select a gorgeous album from for example the Worlds most stylish of high-end manufacturers - GraphiStudio of Italy. Each design is individually completed by Ashton Lamont in conjunction with you, and the layout put online for your approval prior to manufacture. Prices start from just £350 for a Karina 30 side real leather album. See the Albums Page for more details, sample photographs, and downloadable price lists.
High resolution digital files suitable for printing can be supplied on disc. The cost is £350 and includes EVERY IMAGE IN YOUR GALLERY, which may be several hundred! This can be very attractive for clients wishing to obtain multiple copies of prints. The images are retouched and edited to a high standard. You can take your disc to a high street lab or upload the files to an online lab and obtain your own prints even if you have no knowledge of photography or graphic design programs at all. If you're unsure of how to use your files don't worry - its very simple but we supply full guidelines! Please note that black and white images are not normally included because it is problematic to obtain an acceptable black and white print from a consumer lab. The digital files act as an excellent "insurance" as you can copy and store discs at multiple locations thereby minimising the risk of loss or damage to the record of your wedding day.
Extra prints. Extra prints can be purchased loose at £6 per print (up to and including 10"x8"). This special low price is available for orders submitted by the bride and groom (including orders collected on behalf of guests) up to the point where your wedding is finished and archived, after which our standard reprint prices current at the time of order will apply. Further discounts may be available for large orders.
Extended coverage. Our inclusive all day coverage can last up to nine hours. Extra hours are chargeable at £75 per hour in 1/4 hour increments.
Coffee table book. Your standard entitlement of 125 images printed into a book. You choose the images and materials. We then design the layout and put it online for your approval. The book is 12"x12" and is bound in real leather. See the Coffee Table Page for sample layouts and photographs of actual books. The cost is £250. Additional images can be included at a cost of £15 per page (two sides per page) n.b. we charge per page NOT per image and most pages will contain between one and four images per side.
Second photographer. Wedding are shot by a single photographer - Peter Riding. A second photographer can attend but we do not normally recommend this except for very large events in order to keep the coverage discreet. Price on application.
Special effects. Complex editing and tasteful special effects such as rendering images as watercolour or charcoal sketches can be undertaken using the latest state of the art software and techniques. Prints up to 20"x16" and larger can be supplied. Quotations are provided on request.
Mobile Studio. A "studio" complete with powerful photographic lights, softboxes and backdrops, subject to the availability of a suitable location at your venue. Price tailored to your specific requirements.
"Shoot For You". We can design a package just for you. For example you may wish to have all day coverage and all the high resolution digital files but no other products. We will provide a quotation for your specific requirements.
